Large Butter Crock - Cappuccino 1
Handmade in my studio in Wollongong, Australia.
A butter crock, also known as butter bell or butter keeper) is a two-piece butter storage container that lives on your kitchen countertop. Fresh butter is stored in the top piece known as the bell, and water is stored in the base or the crock.
Dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of your handmade piece.
How to use a butter crock:
Place unwrapped softened butter directly into the butter bell lid. Use the back of a spoon to press the butter down and get most of the air out.
Fill the base of the butter bell with a small amount of cold water to create an airtight seal. Approx. 1 to 2cm - just enough to touch the rim of the lid when it closes.
Place the lid with the butter into the vessel with water. The water will create a seal and keep your butter cool, fresh and soft, ready to be spread.
Place in Cool Environment: The butter bell is designed to be kept at room temperature on the counter, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, to preserve the butter's consistency.
It is recommended to change the water in the butter bell every 2-3 days.
When properly cared for, the butter can stay fresh in a butter bell for up to 30 days.
Approximately:
H: 10.5cm
W: 12cm (base)
It holds around 400g of butter.
Please note there is a small section inside the main vessel where the glaze has pulled (refer to pictures). This does not affect the functionality of your butter crock.
